It has a stellar clean channel and two drive channels.Boost. All handwired and a work of art inside. The responsiveness and quality of the lead tones are so great. No shared eq between the clean and drive. Awesome amp.

Hahaha. The wizard fanboys on this site are hilarious. My old Roccaforte HG100 blew the doors off the Modern Classic1 I owned. The wizard is a fine punchy machine in any incarnation but overpriced and for my tastes not great. I have Two Rocks and Bogners as well as a Monomyth and a Snider amp and a bunch of other amps and I would not trade any of them for a Wizard. One mans holy grail is another mans outhouse and I get that but sheesh these things are hyped to no end and also tossed out for sale by almost every person who buys one. Thats a petty good indicator right there. The Magica Kills.
Sooo Wizards clearly aren't your style.

What's the problem then?

EVERY player has a list of amps they don't like.

Should we all start threads bashing amps we don't like

Why not just have a thread about how awesome this Magica is and how it floats your boat

Got a source on this one? Saying that about any amp is ridiculous.
You have no idea what has been bought and kept because it's not showing up for sale!

Wizard bashing is on trend, if you dissent from that then you're a 'fanboy'. Can't win.

I must be getting old but bashing any amp is pointless.

I could make most amps work if I had to because I'll still sound like me.

These days my amp choice will change depending on the song I'm writing/recording anyway.
No amp does it all.

But hey, at least we know what this guy doesn't like

You listed some expensive amps that you own so automatically I know you are right and everyone else is wrong.

Yep I've seen a half dozen Wizards for sale this year, an obvious sign they're rubbish. Oh crap, there's a few hundred Marshalls, Mesas, Bogners, Diezels, Friedmans, Soldanos for sale currently too, an excellent and true indicator they're also shit. Haven't see a single Magica for sale, I think you're onto something!

Just having some fun with you - I hope you enjoy the Magica (as much as I enjoy my Wizard)

Oh dear, the poor tonedog has ran away from home (TGP). Can someone please adopt this adorable little mutt before he's put down? Oh fuck it, let's put him down now. Here you are (post #61) saying how great the MC25 is less than six months ago and now all of a sudden "for your tastes its not great". In six months the Redplate will be in the shitter and you'll be spouting off about the next holy grail. How do I know? I've seen it from you countless times before. Go start inflammatory threads somewhere else.

And more than a thousand bucks cheaper. Not sure why more people are not excited about the Magica. It has a stellar clean channel and two drive channels.Boost. All handwired and a work of art inside. The responsiveness and quality of the lead tones are so great. No shared eq between the clean and drive. Can do anything the Wizard MC25 does but better with way ,more variety on tap.
????
Agenda maybe? Magica is a cool amp but doesn’t sound much like a Wizard; Magica is not a Marshall/HiWatt hybrid with no compression vs a Fender/Marshall hybrid with compression. If I’m thinking Wizard but don’t want to spend the cash, I don’t think of a Magica as a second option if I want Wizard-like tone and feel.

Ahhhh, so he is just another loudmouth never happy amp flipper with more money than chops or taste. Many such cases. Moving on.

These (and Wizards) are amps many players don't know much about, that's why more aren't excited.
I've never heard of it until your post
I hadn't heard of them until this post either. I'd heard of Wizard way back when because of seeing James Hetfield with one.

Anyways, I'll be over here with my Boss Katana in .5 watt mode. :(

I will second that the Magica is an outstanding amp! I really dig it for sure. But I wouldn't come in here stating the Magica smokes a Wizard. They're both outstanding sounding and playing. Top notch builds. The magica is very versatile. You can polish it up for a smooth darker tone or there is an option to take the nfb completely out of the circuit which brings in a killer raw and aggressive tone. The clean channel is also completely an independent clean. I'm certainly satisfied with the Magica. But there is just something about the feel of a Wizard that is unique unto itself which I love.

Waiting for John Ou to check in. Redplates aren't being built so what's the point?

Other guy was correct. Agenda-

Hello RedPlate Family members! We are very excited to be back in full production. Talking to players and getting the builds going is just fantastic! Check out some new videos on our website www.redplateamps.com. Talk with you again soon!

I miss the Wizard I had
I thought the Magica was cool, but not my thing.

Magica might shine at home but Wizard is better in the mix. From my experience anyway. Plus we’re comparing a 50 watt amp to a 25 watt amp. And yes it is a fair comparison. Get a real Wizard, then get back to us.

Had a GREAT 2010 MC100. Unreal amp…the ONLY reason I sold it was to fund a unicorn C+ Coliseum. If I hadn’t scored an amazing 72 Marshall I’d have been stalking another MC100.
Amazing amps.

The final test for me on all amps is how they sit in a mix. I actually setup my amps at home to how I know they will cut in a mix which tend to be a bit more abrasive standing alone. I agree the Wizards certainly cut like a knife and punch through a mix like no other. The Magica is no slouch either and sounds really good in a mix as well. Key for me is pulling the NFB out of the circuit. Also, my Magica is a 100w which has much more stiffer and immediate attack as opposed to the 50w.
