Today was the day we took over our new studio location. The building in Hollywood I've been at for the past decade was sold and is being converted into a hotel, so we all got the boot. At first I was very sad but after today I never want to go back there to work, this new place blows it away on every level; sound, space, vibe, parking etc... So the crew from the studio all met this morning and we gutted her! The things we found were unbelievable. Wow, a zillion wire, screws and nails coming out of a zillion holes from floor to ceiling every where you look. They had enough furniture in the ceiling of the front room to furnish a 1 bedroom house. lol And I'm not kidding, just insane. Piles of old broken gear, tool and just everything you can imagine and for anyone who knows me knows I'm a minimalist with a leaning toward OCD cleaning. My studio in Hollywood is usually imaculate. But we conquered it, stripped the joint to the bone in 8 yours; floor, walls, ceilings. Tomorrow is dry wall and prep day, and the electrician is coming to give her the once over. We will also be running all of the cabling for the audio panels in the walls and then dry wall.

I want to thank all the guys who are pitching in. The game plan is to move in the weekend of the 14th (2 weeks), set up the studio as it runs now and then the next week integrate the tape machine (Studer A800 16 track 2") and all that go with that. We are also are having a Phoenix Nicerizer brought by the studio Thursday and we are going to check out some summing outside the box. Anyone is welcome to come by and check it out, just give me a buzz.
