Talented guy and I hope he still has some of those old jacksons. I don't know the whole story but he seems to have literally went missing.

Talented at what? Making a guitar sound like a chihuahua trapped in a blender!

His first VVI album had some cool 80s style riffs but the solos were all a blur and it ruined it IMO

Amen to that. One THE most horrid tones live I've ever had to endure. Loud as hell and like a thousand ice picks being hurled at you.

Don't Laugh, some of his song writing credits with Kiss. I love it loud, All hells breakin loose and Lick it up. to name a few.

Good for him... last I heard he was a recluse in Nashville Tn

His stuff with KISS was great IMO , Gene and Paul reigned him in vs the all out clutter fest of soloing on his debut

Didn't Vincent have dead dogs stored in Rubbermaid tubs in his house or something?

Agreed. I liked some of his riffs on the debut, but it’s hard to listen to that album for too long. The solos are like Cult of Personality on an 8 ball.

I remember that the singer in the videos for that album was originally going to be Journey's vocalist instead of Steve Perry. Or at least that's what I read somewhere. But Mark Slaughter actually recorded the album. Some good tunes on it but yeah, as other said he seemed to just run his pick as fast as he could over the strings and hoped for the best lol.

Robert Fleischman the guy that briefly had the Journey gig did the vocals on the first VVI album , Slaughter was on the 2nd album

You are correct on the Journey part, but he did record the vocals on the first record as well. VV wanted Slaughter, but the name on the demo cassette had fallen off (the sticker), so he didn't know who was on the demo that was submitted. Once he found out it was Mark, he canned the first guy, Mark joined the band and was in the video lip syncing.

Like others have said, I think VV is a great songwriter for that style of music. Gene said that he had a great singing voice as well. I think he also said that he was the most talented guy that they ever worked with, but was a head case. That latter part must have some truth, as his band left him in the hotel and became Slaughter behind his back.

Ahh I see.

LOL, about 20 years too late with those riffs and leads. I wonder if he is still as big a prick as the rest of the band says he is and if he will charge for each picture and signature? Lick that Up bitches!

But I'm pretty sure Slaughter did the tour for the first album , I think that guy Rob just did the album then was out the door

Yes, Slaughter did the tour for the first album. They opened for Alice Cooper on that tour. I was at the Detroit show.

His solos sucked big time, but he was a talented songwriter.
