The contrast behind the conviction of words leaders like this spoke with and what poor excuses for human beings our leaders are now, is extreme.
Watching that degradation over the decades is sad to notice. You go from this guy, to people like fucking Kackling Kamala who manages to say 3x the words per sentence with absolutely no meaning behind the words.

Go back and watch old film of how kids in grade school spoke in the 60s when asked questions or discussed things. They are honest, non-cynical, convey insights or at least show process of thought. That doesn't happen now.

Interestingly, the behavior of how Mike Wallace is proceeding/acting in this has not changed, and that worm tongue shit they do now was just the same back then.

Might come down there get my boots flyin see what turns out

My Carrier was on station in the Persian Gulf when that went down.
We set a west coast {longest at Sea} record.
We drilled endlessly AM / PM loading Nukes on A-7's.
I was Special Weapon security detail with US MARINE Detachment CV-64 WEAPONS DEPT.
When we handled Nukes or other weapons non-essential personnel COULD BE SHOT NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
All my LPO's, CPO's & CO's were all Vietnam active duty and not happy campers.
The Shaw died @ Cedar Sinia from lung cancer in LA.
Iran still flies F-4's & F-14's the US sold the Shaw.
The Shaw was no angel, secret torture chambers and all that shit.

Is this carrier in the room with you right now?

Speaking of things from 1970. In 1970 .7% (that’s POINT 7 percent) of Americans got 25% or more of their income from the government. In 2021 that figure was 67%.
