I just decided to put my XTC up for sale, I love the amp but that lead channel on the SLO's are just amazing!! I love my XTC but yet I almost bought another SLO when I bought it. If it wasn't for the FX loop in the SLO I never would sold my 1st SLO. I wanted to sell my XTC and get a 20th Aniv. XTC but I really cant afford to do it right now. The CCV just seems like its not going to happen so then I'm back to a SLO!!

good. :).

the xtc is a versatile amp buuuuut it's no slo.

I will own one someday. Have heard the crazy tales of wizard like mojo lurking within. :D

i have a buddy selling an '89 no loop. Shoot me your email and I'll give you his info.

Both the SLO and XTC are killer amps. For me the XTC is the winner though. Greg, you know you'll be happy with either.

The SLO has always haunted me. The Marsha haunts me more these days but I would love to have both. I need to get my career back on track first though.

I know the feeling they have been doing the same to me for awhile now. I have been watching with much interest.

I'm with you on the SLO GAS.

I love my XTC, but am still haunted by the lead tone of the SLO. For almost a year I ran them together with a Radial Headbone switching to the SLO for leads. It was monstrous but in the end I couldn't justify keeping a $2500 boost pedal. Since then I've been through a few amps looking for that perfect combination, but nothing comes close. Lately I find myself searching the classifieds for a used SLO.

I read an HR100+ review from a German guy, he had a loop with an additional 12AX7 installed and said the loop sounded 100% great after the mod.

Here's the review: http://www.musiker-board.de/reviews-e-g ... -plus.html

I wonder why Mike never fixed that loop to a better one in his flagship amp though.
Mike says that amp doesn't need fixing. I gotta hand it to the guy for sticking to his guns on that. I called a while back when I had my 1st SLO and Bill said that there are delay's that will work for it but it should just be played without effects. I need a little reveb and delay to hide my sloppy playing!

I might have a trade going but if it doesn't work I'll get a hold of you. Thank you.

I miss the SLO lead tone, too...but, the rhythm tone never did much for me... :dunno: ...sorta too polite/smooth when I wanted it to have grit and kerrang.

The SLO is the one amp that has always stayed around a revolving amp collection.
I have never kept any amp over ten years except the SLO.

Nice! There is something about that lead tone!

Save the $$$ and buy a Jet City JCA100H--we did an A/B comparison with an SLO-100 and the differences were... well... not worth the extra $$$.

YMMV

I played a JC and to my ears it wasn't even close to a SLO. I'd love to go that route but my ears wont let me.

the jca's sound damn good but they don't feel anything like a slo. heck soldano's other amps don't feel anything like a slo.
