Don't expect a big reaction from this crowd though. Did you see my show/gear review?

Someone post a YouTube vid/clip of some of their best songs.

Yes I did! Very cool, thanks for posting all that great info.

These guys are just so awesome! It's original and feels new, but it's old at the same time..it's just really creative. The vocals are my favorite part, so different!

Here's some videos for you Mega:
Freya - Not my favorite song by them, but their most popular
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmfVDqdmTdA

Iron Swan - Cool song!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqOxYDGF_Co

Fire Lances of the Ancient Hyperzephyrians - One of my favorites by them
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iI7227GHvQY

Barael's Blade - My favorite right now
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qy3pyGcPKSg

i like em...they seem to be a mix of old Sabbath and some CoC thrown in for good measure. definitely cool stuff, but not for everyone.

I really like the riffs, but the vocals don't seem to fit the music IMO. I think they would sound better with something like what Mastodon used to do vocally, before they started with the clean singing.

I can definitely hear what you're saying, but I love the vocals in this case. Did you listen to the studio version of Fire Laces Mark?

Yeah, the vocals sounded a bit better on the actual song rather than live. The vocals don't ruin the songs or anything, I just think they would sound better with some more aggressive/heavier vocals.

I like the Mother Crone tune the best so far. I just legally downloaded it a few days ago.

i really don't get the big deal with this band

just seems so generic and mediocre to me

and slough feg opened for them. Should have been the other way around bitches :gethim:

The Sword are probably the best metal band in the history of everything ever. No one can compare. Except Ozzy era Sabbath.

The Sword rocks. Of course I'm a fat 'ol middle aged dude so what the hell would I know, right? These day's anybody that's twenty-some-thing & dig's guitar driven music more than "Flo-Rida", i.e. "boots & the fur..... ", is cool with me! :D

I don't know what the kids classify this scene as, but to me it's like a revival of the "Thin Lizzy" type sound & I love it................

A couple other bands that I've gotten into from this "revival" so to speak are, "Trigger Renegade" & "White Wizzard". They kick ass too!

I think the deal is that there aren't a lot of bands doing this style right now and a lot of their younger fans haven't heard a new band like this. So while it sounds rehashed and copied to us oldtimers, it sounds fresh to younger guys.

But the lack of growling vocals is really nice.

There are a ton of stoner rock bands that sound very similar to The Sword.
