Looking through some old gear pics toinght, and found the letter from boogie and pics of my first c+ that i got in 2003. b+ that was sent back to the factory in the early 80's for the full strip down and rebuild into a c+. B serial number C+ face plate. oddball for sure I sold it to someone in germany i think. sounded amazing of course, i'm pretty sure i have clips somewhere too, i gotta find em.

if anyone is super bored and likes looking at gear porn, i have like 15 years of gear flipping pics in a poorly organized google drive folder.

no they only did it while the c+ was in production. if they did a c+ mod to that now, and not just the (probably just as awesome) post fx loop mod, than those B's would SKKKYYYYYY ROCKET.

i want to say it was something to do with changing a circuit board they dont make anymore or something but i have no idea

To change a b to a c+ they would change the preamp board out. They ran out of c preamp boards in the 90s.

Mike did convert my 2B Coli to a C+ a few years back; but I supplied him with a 2C S for the conversion.
Some will say the RP11 board (factory C+ production) is better to have than an RP10(2C pre board, that gets modded to C+ specs) but i call bs since my 2nd C+, an HRG was a factory RP11 and was the worst sounding of the 5 I’ve owned…all the rest were upgrades. By saying’worst’ it still sounded killer, every bit a C+ but my upgraded versions sounded better to my ears.

this only makes me much sadder that i ditched my IIB series 300 wicker head, which i had modded to simulclass at the boogie hollywood store, but did not know of the IIC+ mod at that time

I think Mike B mentioned to me that they ran out of the old RP/SP11 boards back in 1990? It was quite a while ago.

There is a mask and layout for the rp11 floating around the internet.
