I have always had a love hate relationship with Ubers. Have owned at least one of each revision and always loved the outright aggression of the amp, but could never get the low end to my liking.

Well, with the Axe Fx Uber sim, I can get the best of both worlds using the power amp tweaks available. BRILLIANT.

Thank you Cliff

Oh yeah...the 5150 sim ain't bad either. Haven't really messed with the IIC+ or D60 sims yet.

Very cool. Tony, how close can you get to the Engl Blackmore tone?? I saw in a previous post of yours that you are selling your Blackmore cause you can replicate that tone on the Axe FX. I always thought Engl amps had a very unique tone to them.

I would like to hear someone get close to the Savage 120 tones with the Axe FX.

:)

Download Dutch's "Naked Amps" bank. It is every amp in the 7.00 firmware with every control set at 12:00. I've been tweaking all the amps like crazy and I'm digging quite a few. The 5150 sim is pretty damn sweet...

I prefer the Eggie, D60 and still the JTM45 with a SD-1 in front.

Which cabs are you guys using? I prefer a mix of JCM2000/57 and a "german" with a 57.

Are you using it direct Olaf?

At home direct and with the band (although I've discovered my love for old Marshalls again) thru a VHT pwr amp.

I'm digging the IIC and the D60 a lot. Haven't tried the uber or 5150 yet. Egnater and Dr Z are pretty cool too!

The Uber model is nice. I haven't completely dove in to tweaking it, but I've been very impressed so far.

I need to download those "naked amps"... Not sure how to yet, but they seem like a cool option

Clips to back up your posts, please. I wanna hear an Axe-Fx Uber clip that sound better than real Uber clips.

:checkthisout:

I just spent some time with the D60 model and it is very VHT like. Very nice as well.

I am having a ball with this thing

C'mon Tony, you gotta post some clips or it's a Bugera.
Seriously, post clip when you get the chance. Would definitely like to hear it.

I have never done a clip of any kind outside of a recording studio...one of these days, I will get off my lazy ass and make some.

There are loads of clips floating around for folks that really want to listen.

FWIW, I run mine through a power amp and cab. One of these days I will get the software and hook it up to my computer :scared:

I am not having much success with the IIC+ models yet. It took me a while with the Mark IV model as well, so I am not giving up on that particular model yet.....have equally high hopes

The IIc+ sim seems to be not that dissimilar to the USA Lead 1&2. A little more open sounding, with slightly less gain and the bass seems a little rounder/looser. I would try dropping it in place of the amp sim in one of your existing Mark IV patches and tweaking from there.

Yeah...that's what I am doing, but it isn't quite there for me yet. There are certain nuances I am looking for that I haven't found yet. I am sure I will

So how would an axe-fx + vht/fryette poweramp compare to high end amps out there?
