Yup.

Even just insulting anyone is illegal there right now.

The conservatives just won the election and with the AfD following in 2nd place, I'm tippin' they'll form a coalition and nip this shit in-the-bud ASAP.

If Trump hadn't been elected and the world hadn't seen that peeps can for all intents and purposes take their governments and countries back, I doubt this would've happened just-yet. The conservative vote in Germany has been steadily increasing, but I reckon the US stuff gave it a shot in the arm.

Could be wrong; that's just what I'm feelin'. :dunno:

I prolly should have said I'm hopin', not tippin'.

The Christian Democrats actually ruled out forming a coalition with the AfD during the election campaign. Personally I feel that they'll get better supply if they simply bite the bullet and do it anyway, using the political capital they've managed to garner.

Problem is it's not the politically-correct move, what with Germany being what it is today, but reform has to start somewhere and if they want to get anything done, I reckon it'd be the way to go.

Just MHO. :dunno:

FWIMBW, the situation re forming a coalition is almost 100% analogous to the UK's Tory party and Reform UK.

The optics / PC considerations, the positions of the parties on the political spectrum and the potential outcomes for voters - the same.

The only difference is that the Torys aren't in-power... yet.
