I just replaced the two speakers in my Marshall vertical 2x12 and was really easy to do, as mentioned. Really tightened up the sound and more of a hard rock tone versus a blues or rock tone. Those other speakers are awesome but I imagine them being better for Hendrix or Cream, etc. The cab is 10 lbs lighter which kicks ass and it sounds great.

Now one thing I need help with is a speaker mounting screw (bolt?) In one inch because one was missing. Any idea the best place to get one? I saw Mojotone has ones that are for British amps. They are black in color. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Lowes has machine screws. Go to the aisle that has the metal slide out drawers and look through those, they are the better quality stuff. You should find what you need close enough to make it work, just bring an extra screw and nut with so you can check the threads and get a matching screw. Might not be black but a sharpie will fix that.

What neos did you get?

Which speakers were in the 212?

Like VB said for the screw/bolt. There's nothing special about them. Go to any big box or local hardware store and bring one with you to match up threads & size. You can usually buy an individual screw from a local hardware store vs having to buy a pack from a big box store.

I ended up getting two V-Type Neo speakers. There was a G12 H and G12 65 in there. They sounded pretty good but not as good for metal as these IMO. The G12 H was over 6 pounds heavier than the V-Type.

I couldn't find a perfect screw but think it was because the other part might have fallen into the cab, etc. Instead of trying to figure that out, I just used a nut and rigged it so the screw went in a fair amount. To be honest, I probably didn't need it since it was missing but gave me peace of mind, lol.
