If I had the cash I'd get the real deal IIC+ with a custom hardwood cab/wicker grill.
Fortunately I don't so picked both of these up used within the last few months.
The JP is a first year 2016 and is currently up in Petaluma getting an issue repaired.
It's been gone about a month now so I haven't a good enough memory of it to
compare with the Red III which is only a couple weeks old.
The lead channel of the III gets so freaking heavy with so many useful ways to alter
things via the pull pots. Let's see how the JP stacks up once it gets back.

I love my MK V but the Quad pre I have is noticeably better for heavy tones vs. the V’s channel 3. But Ch3 extreme setting makes an awesome power amp for my quad, so win win....lol
my gut tells me the MKIII will “trump“ the JP for that one glorious heavy tone but it only matters what YOU like.
