I need a pickup recommendation. The guitar i am using has a soft maple body /maple fingerboard/maple neck with floyd. 1 humbucker in the bridge and 1 single coil humbucker in the neck
the guitar has a series/parallel switch and a 3 way switch with a 500k volume pot. i already installed a Big brass block and arming adjuster. The guitar seems to be icepicky and very thin/bright sounding.
Can anybody recommend a good thick/ballsy/meaty humbucker for the bridge and perhaps a single coil humbucker for the neck?
right now i am considering
1)suhr SSH+
2)Dimarzio tone zone
3)Anderson H3
4)Motor City Afwayu

which of these pickups would work well in my guitar?
in the neck, i am thinking
1)dimarzio pro track
2)duncan lil 59
3)air norton s

I have an icepick at home too. I dont know the dimarzios that well but an Afwayu could work. Id stay away from ceramic magnets. The Afwayu neck is really nice also. got for the set.

bare knuckle holy diver
it's warm and full
lead tone is amazing
thick, fluid, easy and loud pinch harmonics, very open sounding on chords

or the afwayu if you want more metal bite

I tried a Tone Zone in my icepick; all it did was add a huge bottom end...didn't work for me. Duncan Custom Custom smooths it out. EMG 85 smooths it out. No experience with the rest of your candidates.

What he said!

No seriously, I just put the Afwayu in my guitar after EMGS and it sounds MORE POWERFUL then with the EMGS. I think you wont go wrong with this set.

thanks guys. Which would sound thicker/fuller/darker? the Bareknuckle holy diver or the
Motor city afwayu? also i have a parallel/series switch? which would be more versatile?

lastly any ideas for a nice single coil humbucker in the neck?

I would look into the Motor City's for sure. I have BKP and MCP's in my guitars and like them both, but it seems the BKP's I've had all have a lot of presence where as all of the Motor City's have had more low end. Maybe I'm generalizing too much but to counter a bright guitar I'd personally get the Motor City's.

My Hamer Californian has the same exact configuration. I went with a DiMarzio Super 3 and an Air Norton S - haven't looked back, and it was fairly cheap.
