Thinking about replacing my Einstein... advice needed

So I´m thinking about replacing my Diezel Einstein 100W Head with something that goes more into that marshall direction...
It´s an awesome amp, don`t get me wrong but I want to try something new.
CAN be a single channel head since I`m spending most of the time in Channel 2 and use my Volume knob for cleaner stuff but if it`s a channel switcher I`m fine with that. The cab I´m using is an Orange 212 with Scumback M75/J75 100w speaker. Price Limit is about 1800 - 2000€
What I basically like to have is an head that
- has as marshall, plexi-ish vibe to it (EVH direction)
- can do hi-gain
- also can do crunchy stuff (that were the Einstein lacks the most in my opinion, like mentioned above plexi direction)
- has an usable effects loop (maybe used later as a poweramp for an axe-fx)
- should not be as stiff as the Einstein... more organic and "bouncy"

Amps that may be candidates:
- Mako Makoplex
- Fyette Deliverance (played it at a music store and liked the voicing very much but no loop, not that expensive...)
- Reeves Super `78
- EVH 5150 III
- buy a Plexi and send it to Dave Friedman (I`d really like to but very expensive since I live in Germany)
- Bogner XTC (also played this one and loved it but also too expensive...)

any help is appreciated :D
 
I have flipped a few amps over the last few years. One I still have and quite enjoy is a 5150 III. It has a great 1st channel. I like a Jetter Red II pedal for Marshall type crunchy stuff. That pedal and that amp together get you old school JTM territory to Rhodes on ch 1 only. I wanted to have some old crunchy Marshall as well as the brown sound and extreme gain. It does it. And the used amps are fair priced. It is worth a test ride.
 
Try a bogner 20th shiva. It has huge gain and a better clean channel. If you want an angry marshall this is the amp!
 
The Cornford Mk50 is pretty cool... I seem to remember it like a more Marshall-ish SLO, and it sounded really nice throughout the gain range, even if the EQ range wasn´t super wide. It was a joy to play, in any case. Maybe not a typical Marshall tone, but definitely in the ballpark and very cool in its own right.

Nah, I`n not sure. In every demo and soundclip I saw, the amp didn`t sound right...

Well my guitar teacher raves all the time about cornford amps. Seems Interesting :)
 
crazy timing, i'm just in the process of selling my 100w einstein thinking the same thing

it's truly a great amp, but i'm definitely leaning more towards something else (ie. marshall) for similar reasons that you mentioned,
i think it'll sit better within our band and what we do as well seeing as it's more classic rock sounding guitar wise

i'm actually going for a marshall JVM410h , which i'll normally send to tonehunter in germany for the mod they do (i live in Luxembourg)

i was looking for something with 2-3 channels, the JVM has a heck of a lot more, but opens up more options which is never a bad thing, i really love OD1 on that amp, and i reckon the mod will make it even better, all that for around 1050 euro , depending on how much you find a used jvm for..

otherwise i'd heartily recommend a Cali mod, with an extra clean channel, Dan Gower who's on this forum does the mods and is based in the UK
 
i have a d 120 with a metro zero loss loop and the more less switch has been made footswitchable sounds great
 
Marsha, VHT 50CL or 100CLX, Ecstasy or how about an old JMP/JCM 2203/04.
 
I`m really leaning towards an 5150 III right now... or maybe I buy a plexi for cheap and send it to a modder. If I can find a cornford I`m try one out for sure ;)

Any opinion on the Mako and Reeves?
And how well does the 5150 III work with pedals? I have some fuzzes (for hendrix and stoner stuff) and a Keeley Java Boost which does not work so well with the einstein (they did work very well with the peavey classic 30 I once had).
 
I have a 50 watt Einstein for several years now. Owned the JVM and played the EVH. Honestly I think either would be a step back after owning the Einstein.
 
make sure you have el34's on your einstein before replacing the whole head. if you still don't like the sound with el34's then proceed with the trade.
 
I would contact Olaf Krampe of Krampe amplification .He is Germany and could probably build you a great amp ..
His Marshall type Channels are great and he does hi gain as well
 
I think you have described the Ceriatone Yeti.

Nice feel, classic Plexi and crunch tones and modded Marshall gain. I test drove some good amps when I was considering it and I've played and owned a few cool rigs and IMHO this is the best amp I have personally come across .

I currently have EL-34 BSTR`s in there. But they`re already over 2 years old and I plan to retube the head with those new EL-34BG`s. Maybe I change my opinion after that :D
The Yeti/Chupacabra are also interesting. And I`m also gonna try out the EVH in a few days
