Anyone got any opinions to share on these two? I'm really close to pulling the trigger on one or the other.

I have a Modern Classic with all the bells and whistles-effects loop channel switching etc.. What I like about the Wiz is that you can go from clean to over the top in one amp. It also takes pedals well . I've tried the sl 68 great amp for sure but I like the range on the Wizard. If you get one you will not be disappointed best amp I have ever owned and I've had plenty. What I noticed is that the bottom end stays tight even at the end of the night after 3 sets .

Thanks for the info man. Sounds like the Wizard is the solution to me quest for the all in one box amp. Do you have the MC, or the MC2? Any idea the difference.
Your knowledge is much appreciated. Looks like I'm gonna have to drop over 4k for a new one. It will be worth it if it can do it all and do it very well

The Wizard MC II is one amp that I have heard live 3 different times and they killed EVERY time...best tones of each festival and to me it wasn't close. I just sold an SLO and it was amazing...but as much as I will be fine with my Marshalls the Wizard haunts me..

I have had the 100w and 50w Wizard Modern Classic, I would say go with the 100w if you like your chest thumped, it was a lot stronger than the 50w IMHO. I have to say the Wizard is the best sounding amp I have ever heard. I would still have one if not for financial issues.

I'm planning to demo one in a couple weeks. I gotta see what all the fuss is about. I'm honestly hoping it's not that impressive. LOL!

Where are you going to demo? are you in Nashville or LA?

Michigan actually. There is a corporate center here but they just happened to have one in the warehouse to demo.

Go talk to Scotty.

I didn't realize they had operations set up here now... I had to send my amp to Canada (via new York) for the updates.

Scotty at Vintage King was excellent to deal with. I just spoke to him today as we keep in touch. Cool Dude! He talks to Rick often.

I just noticed they dropped the price on the 100 watt modern classic to 4095 and the modern classic II is 4495...probably a smart move. You get two channels like an SLO but it handwired on turret for less than an SLO.

And there is no comparison with the clean channels.

Rick just moved to a new factory, and from pictures, it's way too big to be a one-man thing.
My guess is that he'll be employing people to build more amps
Word is also that he might stop building cabs himself (probably will have them built by wholesale supplier)

Exactly who I'm talking to.

cool...glad to see things moving for him. He has always been very kind to me and provided great customer service. I have one more M/C that needs the updates done so I will probably be getting in touch with him soon.
