Thinking of going ampless where to start??

I've been amp flipping for a while now 2 favorite amps wish I'd never sold were dual rectifiers especially that rack mount. Anyway I've owned or tried just about every tube amp I could find and I always find weaknesses in them or things that bug me out of keeping that amp. In my experience is not one amp can do it all since I can't own 10 different amps on amp switchers to jam in the garage I want to go a new direction.
This all started by plugging my line 6 pocket pod straight studio speakers and jamming a bit. I felt that this was super convenient and easy to play and practice. Now i am thinking I want a rig that I can just plug into the studio monitoring system or a PA and let the PA or speaker system do the work without needing a half stack to lug around. I did play bass for a short time and used a MXR D.I.+ M80 for a while through an Ampeg stack awesome clean, distortion channels direct box, and noise gate. I ended it up using just it to record and for a couple shows with no Ampeg stack and it worked fantastic great tone always.
Why can't they make something this simple for guitar I know you need a cab simulator and frequencies and such. But is there a guitar rig like that that can do that much without having a huge pedal board I have to tap dance on or having to pay 2 grand for a AXE FX type unit that you need sounds for studio and live because the studio sound does not translate for live sound very well. I tried solid state stuff a few times and I find it sounds great up close but when you get far away note definition and tone falls apart especially outside. But with a PA or studio speakers backing it up I don't think I will have that problem. I know this is a little long and I ramble a bit with my sentences but can you guys please offer any opinions or suggestions and thoughts.

Step #1) Sell all of your amps

Step #2) ???

Step #3) Profit.

Yeah those are good I also liked the Egnator black metal

The tech 21 is sweet and I can't believe I didn't think about the mesa one damn lots of options

I know you said you didn't want to go the Axe route, but if you change amps like you change underwear and like different sounds/styles, it would absolutely be your best bet IMHOP. Pair it with a Mesa 2:90, 2:100 or run it into the return of a high quality head. Very versatile and fairly easy. Just my 2 cents.

Your question confuses me.

Basically looking for a decent distortion pedal with a built in noise gate and the ability to plug into the PA directly or the studio.
