(Put's on flamesuit). I really don't like Dream Theater but This James LaBrie album is really good. He has some catchy chorus shit going on and the overall feel of it seems a bit more modern. Check it out.

I dig.

I thought it was alright, but I much prefer his last one "Elements of Persuasion."

I will have to check it out. I just recently found out about this dude anyway.

Not much love for his stuff apparently.

I liked it up to the point where he starts singing, then i have to shut it off.

  I know you hate this guy. It's cool.

One more time is the kind of music I want to play.
More or less to a "T".
And I wanna do all the vocals myself.

Yeah, it seems like JL is more of an aquired taste. When I first got into DT back in the day, I didn't care for his vocals at all. But, with time...they grew on me a lot. Still not my fave singer by a long shot, and I really dislike his vocals in a live setting. I really do enjoy what he does in the studio (in moderation anyways)....IMO, he typically sounds better on his solo stuff than with DT most of the time. While, I still like DT to a degree, I was a bigger fan of their earlier stuff (90's DT) As far as JL solo goes....I tend to believe that "Elements of Persuasion" was his finest work, thus far. Although, it does sound significantly different from "Static Impulse." It doesn't have the screaming/growling vocals featured by Peter Wildoer (SI drummer) and IMO, is generally more melodic with some traces of electronica, but still heavy, just not "as" heavy as SI. And, I really dig Mike Mangini's drumming on EoP as well (same drummer heavily rumored to be Portnoy's replacement in DT.) Also, one of the main driving forces behind EoP/SI is guitarist Marco Sfogli. EoP is just one of those records that you can just about listen to all the way through without skipping much...that is, if you dig the music/vocals. It really made a huge statement for a solo record IMO, pretty epic. In fact, many ppl have said that they preferred EoP to the current state of DT at the time it was released. JL's other big solo project before these two records, was Mullmuzzler. (a JL solo project just the same, but used a different name instead) He made two albums under this name, "Mullmuzzler 1" and "Mullmuzzler 2." By, comparison Mullmuzzler was much more "tame" than SI and EoP, but still had some decent tracks here and there.(different guitarist: Mike Keneally) Anyhow, I personally can enjoy all of JL's solo work on some level. You might want to check out the rest of it.

Never heard of this before... It's not bad, some of it reminds me a bit of 30 Seconds to Mars, some of reminds me of prog-rock European style. I know nothing about these cats, but I don't find it at all nasty... It's alright.

His singing on this trumps the DT stuff.

I kind of grew to like his voice.
