Crunch and then the higher gain sounds starts around the 5 min mark
I guess we all have different ideas of tone as I thought it sounded pretty good.![]()
I can see that as it really doesn't sound like any Rectifier I have ever heard. The Badlander is a cool amp, but I don’t consider it the next version of the Rectifier. I think it was a marketing mistake to label it that way. It’s something entirely different IMO.
I thought this sounded good and was what initially got me listening to clips. I prefer the drier sound of the low end compared to the sub sonic boomy low end of the original rectifier, but then again I have never been a fan of the original Rectifier anyway.
To skip to the playing it's a 2:58 mark I believe, although the whole clip is really good if your a Sykes fan and Ben Eller did a fantastic job with this.
They made it clear that they weren’t going for that tone when they designed it.I have yet to find a demo of the Badlander that sounds good to me. Even in some of the better demos, it's still lacking some of the "thickness" that I have come to expect of a Recto. I'm glad I didn't buy one.
The second clip is pretty true to what it really sounds like. The first, not so much. The amp is really underrated and flew under the radar
