This thread frustrates me. So many opinions, no facts.
Great in an LP, thin in an LP. Huge in a Strat, terrible in a Strat.

I'll throw my coin in the pond.

My mid 90's zebra JB sounds great in my LP.

I think it's partially an era thing (up until about '92 they definitely sound better), and indicative of Seymour's QC issues lately. Plus, the OEM versions (especially the Jackson ones) just sound different - I dunno if they're spec'd differently, or it's just run variance or something, but they definitely sound different than the replacement versions.

wow, kind of forgot about this place... :aww:

too hot, too trebly, bit honky. bit muddy as well- it's kinda like a rock-voiced pickup, but with metal output. it's just kinda, well, strange.

though i'd say the guys saying it's good in the right guitar have a point- the one in my edwards sounds better than most of the other ones i've tried, but i still don't "like" it as such, just i don't hate it as much. also i've tried a couple which sounded pretty good in other guitars, and then some in very similar guitars, which sounded terrible.

strange pickup.

Love my JB's !
Have one in the bridge of every guitar I own.
