Back in the day when had racks, and I took my rack to practice and shows, I used SKB ATA racks with the aluminum frame rings at the front and back, and on the covers; now all I see are roto molded or high end road cases.

My new rack will rarely travel outside of my house, so i don't need a touring rack or even ATA. Looking at these rotomolded cases, IDK if I'd go for anything larger than 6U; especially with 2-3U being a tube power amp or a rack tube amp.

Anyone have experience with these roto molded rack cases? How well do they hold the weight? Any "bent or warped rails" experiences?

Meh.. Chunky fuckers. They have big fat asses and not in the good way. I bought one years ago for a Compressor Rack that I'm parting out. Buy one?? LOL
I wish I had saved a few more bux for the regular..

I’ve got a 12 space shock absorber SKB roto case. No wheels - I always used hand trucks when I gigged and they always got in the way.

I abused the hell out of the SKB I used to have from years ago and it just took the abuse and was way lighter than a wooden fabbed and padded metal frame case.

It’s rated to hold a max of 200lbs and I can pick it up empty one handed. I wanted something sturdy but also light enough to move around without needing to rent a truck with a lift.

I spent a good amount on mine but I invested in it because I’ve actively gigged SKB with good results in the past.
