Looks like a pretty nice guitar for the price. Anyone have experience with them?

What character is the tone (warm, shrill, thick, etc)?

Thanks!

I've only played one right off the rack. Didn't plug it in. I know it felt great and played really well. They have a very thin body, but I have heard the tone is still thick and cutting.

Neck seemed heavier than the body to me. Tone was okay. They were going for really, really cheap a while back but then they jumped back up to the current prices.

I've owned one for a few years.

Pros:

Got it DIRT cheap off the 'bay for like $307 shipped
Good feel, Great playability, Great upper fret-access (for me, anyway)

Cons:

As mentioned the body is super-thin, feels neck-heavy when I'm not sitting down.
Mine was the older model that came with passive pups (EMG HZ) that were quite muddy

Overall:

After trying several passive pups and not finding a tone I liked I settled for an EMG 81/60A combo that sounds like a... 81/60A combo   Due to the thin body, IMO, the tone is not as thick as what I would normally expect from a mahogany guitar, and it gets muddy when I tune lower than Drop-C. I suspect an upgraded bridge, nut, and tuners might help as they seem to be the weakest links next to the pups.

If you can get one for a good price, it makes a worthy beater

I've had one for a few years...great guitar. Neck thru that plays like buttah...super fast and sleek. It is thin body and lightweight, but still tonally plenty thick IMO. I do hate the stock pups (EMG passive) so I changed mine out to TV Jones Filtertrons. I also upgraded the bridge to a TonePros locking bridge and I put in a graphite nut. IMO, the Japenese built guitars have better fit and finish than about anything else out there...even USA made stuff.
