Now that this amp has been out for a little, I'm just curious to hear your thoughts on it. Considering purchasing one.

Amazing amp. Bought one last week. Covers lots of ground. Should've bought one sooner. Great cleans, 2 lead/rhythm channels depending on how you decide to set them up. All the features work; nothing is superfluous. Does the smooth liquid lead thing, great crunchy rhythms, and plenty of cut, articulation while doing both. Sounds great at low volumes... I mean really great low volume tone. I was so impressed with the lead tone and functionality of all the features, I may dump my SLO. And the SLO is a killer lead amp too, but severely limited compared to the JP2C. Can't speak to how it compares to an original MKIIC+ HRG... but compares very favorably to the MKIII, MKIV, MV which I have owned. Really like it a lot more than the MKV... more present, focused and many more evil, mean tones inside which is my preference.

Here is my NAD thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=190628

Definite must buy!

It's a great amp. Don't compare it to a 2C+, because it's not. It has its own sound and tone of voicing options. For the money, it ranks way up at the top.

If you like the American MESA tone its the one for you.

Petrucci has the best clean tone ive heard. ;)

I bought one new in January of this year, I was very excited about it and thought it was going to be the end all be al ( I waited a year to get one) I have played Mesa for nearly 10 years and of them the Mark Iv was my favorite/go to amp. I used it with a Recto 212 and or a Recto os412.

Clean channel is great, midi features are nice and so is the reverb. Unfortunately I was never really wowed from the second I got it (took a leap of faith and bought it without playing it first since there were non around to try) the amp has it's place but I ended up selling it a few days ago. I found it harsh, noisy and didn't cut in the mix imo. I thought it was ok but I regret selling the mark Iv and replacing it with the Jp2c.

I'm not new to Mesa (I love the Mark series up to the IV) but the amp just didn't do it for me (maybe I got a bad one) Also I don't like the Mark V and some of the tones reminded me of that.

I tried tubes, many guitar and cabs with no luck. A few of my other gear friends agreed with me on the amp. For me it was disappointing but many sing it's praises.

I love mine. I can get any tone that there is really. Once you master the 5 band GEQ you can dial in Marshall and Fender tones easily. Having 2 lead channels and 2 GEQ's gives me super control. I use 1 GEQ for rhythm tone, 1 for boost. There are many different gain options so the amp can do classic rock and country or full out modern metal.

I also own a Mark IIC++ which sounds identical to the JP2C.

IIC+ or not IIC+ ... that is the question.

The JP2C is a killer amp either way.

I have one of the limited heads. Absolutely fantastic amp in every way. Everything I have ever wanted in an amp and most of all the tone of it is amazing. It's really satisfied my amp gas. I have it running with my Helix rack in 4CM and it is flawless and they work so well together.
