At first I thought that might be an awesome anti theft solution - for community assisted location, identification and recovery of stolen gear - but then, I'm not sure what kind of radio frequency interference it might inject into guitars, amps etc. I suppose you could locate it away from the control cavity, on the back of the headstock for example, but that would be too obvious and the thief would just remove it.
Nevertheless, good to see innovative solutions like this coming out. Might not be too far from the day you can get your stolen gear back - or at least find that missing Les Paul you left lying around in the laundry basket...
