I'll go first:

JSX - overcompressed and honky
Single Recto - buzzy and flabby
Engl Thunder - ice-pick in the ear and minimal gain

Faves......so far

Engl Blackmore
VHT 100/CL

Mesa Dual Recto - Blackface
Engl - Blackmore
Lee Jackson - M1000

It would be even better if you wrote which kind of music you play and the reason why you were so disappointed with the amp.

Yamaha T100 ... pos .

Sent the amp to Soldano, Had all the mods done ,
Preamp mod, choke installation, reverb mod etc... Still
sounded NOTHING like an SLO. Maybe my hopes were too high?!
Garbage amp. Hated it, Sold it and lost my shirt.
Buzzy, thin gain with raspy tone...
Tried every type of tube - still nothing.

No issues here. I just have two amps and don't need or want any more as a rule. My main amp is only 20 watts so sometimes its not loud enough but since I always mike it I don't mind the low watts. Its light and cheap and sounds great. I do alot with my pedalboard.

SLO
Cornford something or other (years ago)
stiletto (HATED IT)
el diablo

Shiva.....I really wanted that amp to be something that it was not. It does what it does well but it does not fit my style very well.

- Framus Cobra
- Cornford MK50H

Even though I've heard some great clips from both of these amps, I couldn't get a decent tone out of either of them! Both were very well built, high quality amps...

I play modern metal and classic hard rock/metal.
