Any help/advice would be appreciated.
I'm using various channel switching amps. Using an MFC 101 MIDI Controller. My effects are in a pedal drawer in a rack with an RJM looper unit. They consist of in this order:
Before the amp input:
Suhr Koji Compressor
FoxRox Octron
Boost 1 - I switch this up depending on the gig
Boost 2 - I switch this up depending on the gig
Before and in the loop using the pre and post configuration:
Strymon Mobius
In the loop:
Strymon Timeline
Strymon Blue Sky
I just ordered an Eventide H9 because I wanted a rather small MIDI controlled reverb pedal as the BlueSky is only a single reverb (It does have a favorite button but the unit is n my rack) plus I wanted a harmonizer. The BigSky is too big and more than I wanted to spend on a reverb only pedal.
My initial thought was to simply replace the BlueSky with the H9. But as I started to research more into what the H9 can do I'm feeling that I'm selling it short and limiting what I can used it for by placing it last in the loop. I feel reverb sounds best last.
My current pedalboard with the MFC 101 on it didn't have any more room for any pedals other than a tuner and volume pedal. However I just ordered another board that will give me more room. So I could put all my Pre Amp pedals on the board. However, the Mobius is used Pre AND Post.
I don't want to run multiple signal cables to and from my board.
So, should I:
1. Simply replace the BlueSky with the H9 and call it done.
2. Use the Mobius for just Pre Distortion type effects (Phaser, Flanger, Vibe etc.), put the H9 in place of the Mobius in the loop and keep the BlueSky and live with it (or not).
3. Sell the Timeline and BlueSky and get another H9 (Core).
4. Some other configuration.
Thanks in advance!
