I voted BB.
I've been using one for about 6 years now. It's one of my favorite pedals.
My Timmy and Tim spend most of the time in a drawer :(

I voted BBpreamp just based on clips. The Timmy I have is a great pedal, but not really what I would call smooth.

A Hermida Audio Zendrive is a really nice pedal, but it may be too smooth and dumble like for what you want.

Iwouldnt say either pedal is a smoothe overdrive. Maybe the zendrive or one of the eternitys

BB would be better for this. I use the BB MB now because it is more open and has the mid-boost control but it is not as compressed and smooth as the original BB. Never cared for the Tim or Timmy.

I'd love to get the BB with the mid knob, I've heard nothing but good things

Just not into boosting anymore

Well if I am using the 77 JMP yeah I am nailing it with the 308 or Blues Pro but the modded marshalls I just do not have the need to anymore.

Sounds like you didn't spend enough time with the Tim/Timmy. You need to take the deep dive and REALLY get into those units. :D

BB Preamp for me. It's the perfect oomph for solos. Tried the Tim but.......i thought it was ok. Didn't keep it.

that's what these look like now? is there a ten year wait list?

im not really sure what the deal is, but ive seen more than a few different styles of that thing, not sure if theres any difference

Last I checked there was no wait list for the Hermida pedals or a very very short wait. I got my Hermida Reverb a year or so ago right away.

As for the Zendrive, there are 3 versions that I am aware of:
1. The regular zendrive (which I have)
2. The Zendrive SE in wood case (which is in the videos). Slightly tweaked version of the Zendrive
3. The Zendrive 2 which has a tube.

I own 4 of Alf's pedals, they are great. I did sell off the 3knob Mosferatu, just to trim down. The tiki drive and nu-valve look cool, but I don't really need any more dirt pedals....

I just remember them looking like the yin yang thing, never bothered trying one due to the long wait list, I got sick of all that waiting game B.S.

Let's take a Bad Monkey and put in a foo-foo looking snobby box and call it Wooden-Cream-Tone and sell it for $375 on TGP. Then well get the modeling forum to sim it. I'm sure it'd work. :D

They are actually nice pedals. The 3knob Mosferatu was $135 new when I bought it, so the prices have gone up. I agree they are overhyped on the TGP and I would not pay $375 for one, but at the $180 I would buy it again. They are up to $200 new now :aww:
