I'm thinking of getting a BEM & HBEM for one of my 78' Marshall JMP 2203's, those tones are the best i've heard in clips.

Will my Drake OT be able to handle x-tra heater voltage of another gain stage? And i'm guessing these mods are not reversable.

If you've had Dave mod your JMP i'd like your opinion.

I think the brown eye only is a lot more than enough gainwise and I think that wouldn't require the extra tube

but yes, stock transformers can handle a couple extra preamp tubes

No issues with mine, Dave does great work. I like the HBE but if you're worried about it you could get the BE with sat switch to up the gain a notch without the extra tube. Personally I like the flexibility of having both mods.

Daves amps/mods have what i'm looking for, he sounds like a solid dude.

Mine is a ptp jcm 800 clone equipped with Drake OT and PT. Seriously, Dave is awesome. This is the best amp I've ever owned. I owned Jubilee 2558, Mesa single rectifier, VHT 50CL, Mesa Quad pre+ VHT two fifty two, Framus Cobra, Suhr Badger, Phaez Daisy Cutter. Dave is second to none.
The answer is "to mod". You won't regret it.
