If it was a MIJ I would be all over it. That is not saying that there aren't some great MIK's out there.

If you like it it could be a great guitar, but to be honest I don't know anything related to pricing on the tokai MIK's.

The MIJ versions of Tokai, Greco, Edwards etc all compete with real deal Gibson Standard LPs, and some might say even customs..the Navigators for instance. I'd shy away from the non MIJ versions, when it comes time to sell it'll be harder. You can find some decent deals on ebay with Japanese sellers occasionally. I paid 480 shipped for a used Edwards Sykes, and 500 shipped for an 84 Greco Sykes within the last 2 yrs.

Really was a great LP type, but the Greco was even better...the Edwards had a 59ish neck profile, where the 84 Greco was more 60s slim. All this talk has me looking at another Greco...the one I had was the 'mint' collection from the early-mid 80s...really can't go wrong with the MIJ LPs for the price.

also...someone had mentioned on a thread somewhere about a circa 90's model LP that had an ebony board and was a killer guitar for the $$ but they were only made for a couple/few years...cant remember what that was... a studio maybe?
