Start with a clip of Ed on the left channel and my dry tone on the right channel:

Ed's tone on the left channel has been "studioized"... my tone on the right chanel is 100% dry tapped off the SM57 mic.

So let's head on down to the studio with that clip...

...take my part of it (the right channel)...

...and EQ it, compress it, put a phaser on that one part... and slap a little echo chamber on it (just like Ed's has in the left channel).

Here's what you get:

...

Now let's throw a little Dave, Alex and Mike in the mix:

Same exact guitar track of mine in each of the three clips.

The pickup of course is the majestic Seymour Duncan SH-5 Custom.

So I listened to it a few times. Not a bad sound, although it seems like the sound coming from your low e is a little weak. Also, it's a bit "crispy." Evh is more about fizz (think many small teeth) than grind.

Cool tone all said and done. Nice job on that fill in. I still can't play that :D
