Mega, funny response man. Yes, I would agree that a Charvel with a Floyd and a hot pickup is not the right guitar for a vintage Fender amp. Just like my '66 strat is pretty uninspiring into my Quickrod, my JCM800 or my early Super Leads. Right tool for the job and all that.
I have yet to play any decent amp where a good old Strat ins't going to shine...

I still stand by my guns and say for HIGH gain amps the guitar is not as much a factor in total tone, HG as in ENGL, Rectos, etc.

Something like SLPs and 800s yes I agree the guitar comes out alot more.

Has nothing to do with gain, but with design.
If the guitar goes out of the equation that's no amp, that's a shit box with caps and resistors.
BTW, I disagree on the Recto btw.

Ok, I can agree with the design if the amp does not reproduce what the guitar is sending :)

I understand why you would disagree about the recto but for what I was thinking I believe I am right...different players I am thinking of.

I play mostly through a Bogner 101b. I have a few guitars with Floyds and used to play them most of the time. Since I got my EBMM Y2D Morse guitar without a Floyd I've been playing it most of the time because of the tone difference. I think the EBMM sans Floyd sounds way better than my guitars with Floyds. In fact, I think all of my non-floyd guitars sound better through the Bog than those with Floyds. My non-Floyds just seem to sound more alive...IMHO. :D
