How do you like the tone in the room out of the two? How do you feel the VH4 and Herbert compare in copping the Jonez Toanz?

Interested in your opinion.

PS: Good consistency with the crotch shot footage

Are you using the "oversized" slant front Mesa V30 cab on the Herbie and VH4?

For what it is worth, your Herbert setup seems to be sounding/recording better with your recording setup. Lots of factors there.

What does it feel like in the room between the two?

Thanks dudes! The Herbert records much better with this Apogee one, the VH4 sounds compressed in the rosetta stoned video.
I did do things differently when I recorded with the VH4, I pushed the volume up a tad more so the mic was getting hit harder.
Also have to remember that I don't have a mic mount for the Apogee yet, so it is hanging by the usb cable wrapped around a mic stand hanging in front of the speaker.

It's possible that I didn't have the mic in the best place when using the VH4...
Right now the mic is in place to use the Herbert, tomorrow I will plug the VH4 into that cab to see the different with the same exact speaker.

Oh and yes I am using Mesa 4x12 oversized slant cab's.

For the Adam Jones tone, I have to say mixing both herbie and the vh4 together sound amazing!

Recording I think right now the herbie sounds more like Tool.
Still to early to tell!

I really couldn't choose one of the two, when I run only one at a time now I feel like half my rig is missing and it sounds incomplete tone wise.
When I record I still run both amps at once and mic one of them as the Apogee one is mono.

You're doing Diezel sales a world of good with this

As per the Herbert sounding more like "Tool", could be the Herbert has just a bit more of the looser feel that the VH4 PLUS the Marshall Super Bass that Jones uses together offers in his tone; within a single amp (did that make sense?). Basically, maybe the Herbert - on its own - has enough of the V and enough of a Marshall looseness - to get to where Adam gets using both.

Interestingly enough, I've never been a fan of most of the recorded Diezel stuff, as I know what it sounds like in a room - or on a stage - and it's never the same on YT or the like, or very rarely at that. But the Herbert in your recordings is sounding better to me. More refined. More dynamic. And again, that's not to say one IS better than the other - it's just in the context of the clips you've been putting out, the Herbert is sounding stronger.

Keep it up, I'm definitely digging this.

You guys are to kind!
I watch my videos and want to redo them because of uncalled for silly mistakes.
It does bother me that I like my Herbert recordings better than the vh4.
So I will be doing the same songs with the VH4 with adjustments.
My goal is to like the VH4 recordings better than the Herbert.
