Questions on Torpedo Live

1.) The user IRs do the WAV files need to be 48hz or 96hz

2.) What cable should I use for the line out to a pair of studio monitors?

3). Any clips/videos /opinions on the Friedman cabs IR

1) either will work. I use 96.
2) i would suggest a TRS
3) can't help you here...

careful with the TRS cable, if you use an insert cable, the left and right will be out of phase and the sound will be hollow and thin.

either use a proper Y cable either balanced or not, or use the headphone out to the monitors and be careful to match levels, or use a mixer. If your DAW has a no latency monitor function (most do), just run through that.

The Two Notes cab IR's can be auditioned directly within the boutique through your hardware and playing. Judge for yourself..... I do know of several endorsees who found the Friedman and were so excited about it, they bought without even asking if we can "do something"

for the static IR's, 96kHz mono is the best choice if available.

Andy,

Thanks for the reply, should I use a TRS or TS Y cable?

A TS Y cable will be 100x easier to find and if your speakers are close to the Live, there shouldn't be any signal degradation. If you choose to get a TRS Y cable, either a competent local tech who makes wires or a custom cable company like Redco should be used. If you ask at the counter of most music stores, I would expect you'd be given an insert cable and some free attitude.

Here is the Redco code I generated for the required TRS cable http://www.redco.com/Custom-Cable.html?cableid=5j5SXM Please reply with the model of your speakers and how long a cable and how far apart are your speakers and I can tweak the specification. BTW, we have no affiliation with Redco other than I have used their services.

JBL LSR 308s. They will be at most 2 feet away on each side of the Torpedo Live

so the TRS to 2x TRS Y cable I spec'd should be perfect, you could even go a bit shorter on the length.

You'd also be fine with a TS Y cable which you can get at just about any music store..... or a Y adapter and 2 regular guitar patch cords (TS)
