Getting your name Googled should be expected.

Wanting to meet at a public place can be expected too.

And remember. There was a time before the Internet when people sold things via classifieds. They were called newspapers. Go figure.

Nice choice sir. I have a limited edition Glock 23 that the slide was nickel plated at the factory. My carry choice is the Glock 30 (.45). :powpow: :D

Glock 22 here....fits better in my hands. Not as carry-friendly as the 23 though.

I think how we approach Craigslist could have something to do with where we live as well. I don't know what Tennessee is like, but I would never go over to someone's house in Boston. There is a lot of crime in that city. Didn't you hear about the pizza delivery guy who was brutally murdered by three minors?
Keep in mind, greater than 99.9% of CL transactions are not crimes and thus not news worthy. Now, you might get ripped off with your purchase though. :D

Nothing wrong with being cautious. Talk with them on the phone and go with your instincts. I've never had any problems with any CL deals (shenanigans with the deal, but nothing criminal). Depending on the cost of the item and how I feel about talking on the phone with them, I'll meet them in a public place. If I get screwed that's the cost of doing business on CL. If it's an expensive item and I want to play it first, I check out the neighborhood and get an idea on what's going on on the phone. If you're still uncomfortable then don't do it. Or say you're bringing some friends with you just to be safe. Or take them with you anyway.

Just don't let the news dictate to you that's the way everything really is. My mom was that way. There were criminals around ever corner, behind every tree, and in every store. There is a difference between caution and paranoia.
