I'm currently looking for a good sounding 2x12" cabinet for my MOD50 head. I mostly play hard rock and metal - modules so far SL and Erect.
A COD, T/D, SL2 or EG5 module is on the wishlist for christmas (hope that santa doesn't think I've been naugthy this year).

I'm pretty pleased with my old Marshall 1960B (G12T-75's) and 1982B (G12-80's) cabinets but I need a more portable cabinet for smaller gigs.

I can purchase the Tourmaster 212X in europe (US orders aren't interresting since the shipping costs will be immense). Other candidates are THD, Bogner, CAE and or course Mesa.
One major advantage with the TM212 is that I've found a european dealer who ships for free... (and another one is how nice it will match the head)

Is the TM the best choice or should I go for one of the more expensive cabinets?

The 212s sound really good!!I have 2 of them under my Mod!The Speakers sound great to!

given your situation, i would have to go with the egnater tourmaster 2x12 cab. seems like the best option.

Yeah, I thought it might fit my taste since I really dig the G12-80's in my Marshall 1982 4x12" cabinet. And it would look freakin' great!

My friends TM 2x12 sounds great, I hope to be able to compare it to my caa 2x12 soon, but the speakers are different as well. I wouldn't hesitate to by a TM 2x12, especially with free shipping compared to the other cabs you may order.

I just bought a 2x12 tourmaster cab to use with my MOD100 head and it sounds great! Great bargain too!

Thanks brother, works and sounds great. Dont be afraid of the Tour Master cab as a cheaper version. It is just as good as my Bogner 2x12's.

Brad

ps: Great band, you guys kill. Are you the one with the sleeves?

Hey Brad, is the TM REALLY as good as your Bogner 2X12s? I'm having a really hard time debating between forking over the extra dough for the Bogner or not ...

survey says...don't. TM cab can be had for $380 out the door at GC. Crazy to pay $twice as much for the Bogner imo and you get stereo jacks and a removable panel to go from open to closed back. No brainer there.

Wow, that sounds promising coming from a guy that has owned every possible cab and amp in the world!

How in the world do I get one for $380 out the door at GC???? I only see them listed for $449! $380 IS a no brainer!

It helps if they know you but...

Tell them you want to buy the TM 2x12 from them if they will meet the internet deal from Music123.com They will say ok and walk you over to a CPU in the store to pull up the deal. Tell them it is an unadvertised deal for past clients in which you need to actually place an order and then give them the key word of HUSH. They then will deduct 20% off the price. If they would like to match it you will buy it there and then. If not thanks for trying.

they will give it up.

Brad

Have you ever had a chance to play the portway 2x12 OS to compare it to? Also, where you comparing it to the OS 2x12 bogner right?

I hope the little 1x12s are as good as this 2x12!

Thanks for all the kind words about Mister Kite! Really glad you like us!

I guess with sleeves you meen the tatooed guy, right?

No thats not me, you can check out my page on myspace: https://www.myspace.com/magnuskristensson

380 USD you say! Man sometimes I wish I lived in the United States!
To bad it's so expensive to ship from US to Europe... and then you have to pay a lot of taxes and custom as well

Wow guys! I may really get a TM212 this year. That good, huh!? I know a lot of guys I talk to on the forum love em. All good contruction? Birch, etc? Only thing is the weight due to the added inner panel for the conversion to partial open back. I am not sure I would be using that due to mostly being a hard rock, classic rock guy - but you never know. Getting a cab without that would save about 16 lbs. We live on the third floor so lugging up and down sucks. I used to lug a 412 myself up and down these steps, no more. Ha.

How are the stock speakers? I also like Vintage 30s and the Sumback M75s look sweet.

What about the tightness of this cab? Much farting?

Thanks guys!!! I appreciate the advice.

No farting,I can run gobs of bass and still keep it sounding UNTUBBY!!!! :D Really a great cab!Even the open back sounds great.

I luv mine. I replaced 1 of the CL80 speakers with a G12T75. The cabinet is built really well but there are alot of screws to remove to change a speaker. The casters are the upgraded ones and roll smooth over any surface. I planing on buying another one and a 4x12 and maybe a 1x12 or 2 :D aoeric (Eric) on here was selling of his other cabs because he liked these so much. Im sure he will chime in soon. :2thumbsup:
