Hi,

I have a 06 PRS singlecut trem(10 top with birds) that I wanna trade for a 94 tom anderson drop top,
my PRS has some tiny dings on the top and some belt scratches on the back, the anderson is very clean.

The guy said he'll trade if I'll add 450$+an overdrive pedal that I have that costs around 350$.

Do you think this is fair?

 what do you value your prs to be worth ? ive seen early TAs go for around 1,500 to 1,800

+1 From a money point of view ONLY I'd say you are not getting a fair deal at all...

Undamaged I'd say the PRS is worth about $500 more than the drop top. I bought my old mid-90's drop top (with a Floyd, which hurts the price a tad) for about $1450 or so.

A nice Drop Top from that era should be $1700-$2000 depending on condition and top. Put a real value on your PRS and do the math.

IMO that's pre-crash pricing. The 2-bolt stainless steel ones might get close to $2000, but I see a lot of older ones going for $1500 to $1700 like this one:

On the other hand, Sc-Trems that pull more than $2K are common.

The thing is that the PRS has alot of little dings and the back has alot of scratches,
I'm not sure how good it's value is like this.

A dinged up PRS may only be worth $1200-$1300... Especially if the dings are visible from a couple feet away. Turn it into a fender, and you can call it a relic, but people like their PRSi to be minty fresh!

I think I'll actually listen to you guys and pass this trade, at least under these conditions.

If you want it and have the funds to float it buy it and put your prs up for sale, might get you a lot closer to break even. I'm with the others though, you aren't getting a fair deal.
