MURDERATOR
got one yesterday for $25....

here's the issue from the guy I got it from. It will cut off. Not sure where in the run cycle it cuts off-or if it's random. Forgot to ask him. You know how it is when your doing a deal on the back side of the dollar general parking lot with a complete stranger. To busy looking for weapons or checking the area to see if it's an ambush.(remember I worked in a prison for 22 years....lol) He said he pulls the board and checks the fuse and the fuse is NOT blown, even though it's acting like it's blown. Reinsert fuse and it fires up....then kicks off...I have not checked anything yet. Thought I would ask any of you electronic guru's what you thought....
Thanks!

What type of fuse is it? It may be the type that does not blow completely but shuts down
if it gets too hot current wise, and then will re-open when cooled off.

Just a thought.

My Pit Boss was doing this. It was simply because the internal thermometer was dirty. Cleaned it off with a rag and some alchohol and started working again.

There's an auto shutdown feature built in. Maybe that's it.

gonna pick up a pack of fuses and some pellets and will start on it later. I'll clean that thermostat joint first though.....

I’m not familiar with pellet grills, but I am with pellet boilers and 9 times outta 10 it’s just a dirty sensor of some sort. I’m sure that has some sort of temp sensor and maybe flame sensor as well
Give it a good cleaning

what pellets do you use bro? are the cheap wally world ones ok? What do you recomend bwah?

japetus nailed it. cleaned the thermostat and ran like a charm.....no issues at all. kinda feel bad for the dude that sold it to me. should I offer it back to him?

It'll play on your conscience if you don't at least give him the option IMHO brudda.

He'll probably say no anyway, if for no other reason than to respect the agreed-to sale and your honesty.
