I have a HBE Germania. It works good with humbucker pickups but not as useful with my strat. Cost is around $100 and sometimes you can pick them up used. Check out the Homebrew Electronics site.
I love the Germania too. The Germ has 2 modes...
Here's a clip:
(lead =modern, rhythm=vintage)
This song, I used the "vintage" setting for the lead break in the middle; it is a clearer, less bassy sound than modern (I also used less gain on the amps:5150-right chan, Mesa TVerb-left channel). The Outro lead was the modern setting.

Nice! Thanks!
Sounds attractive.
Did you try any BSM boosters? Like HS Custom or RM Majestic?
I'm into vintage tones, kind of Gallagher, Blackmore, Iomi, Page, Clapton/Cream, Santana SG/P90.... I wonder which treble booster would do? I'm using Marshall 30th Anniversary 100W with Celestions 25W 4x12 and Gibson/Fender P90/PAF/SCoil
Diaz texas ranger. Its based on the dallas rangemaster. theres sonclips of it at http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Diaz-Texas-Ranger-Treble-Boost?sku=151061
Thanks for link to Diaz Texas Ranger. Mid setting sounds close to what I'm after. (I wish companies always tell what they use to record clips)
Have you tried BSM Treble Boosters, HBE Treble Boosters, Analog Man Treble Boosters? What do you play and what do you use (I assume Fender standard with single coils)? Any clips?
Here's a take of mine using the HBE Germaniqa into my Marshall 2204 head. It's the lead guitar that is this combo, and also the clean guitar - same combo- just with the guitar volume rolled down.
