This guy is amazing. NIN are very cool. Great vision Reznor has. Very ahead of his time at only 34.

I agree. He is a true artist in every sense of the word IMHO.

Like Trent or hate him the man is a freaking genius...changed music in the early 90s.

meh...

I know I'm in the minority here, but I think he's WAY overrated. One of the biggest douchebags I ever met, too.

You're not the only one.

Every single piece of music in every genre I've heard from NIN has been downright mediocre. The man tries to do everything but everything to me sounds totally halfassed.

+1. Cannot stand NIN. I've heard some German proto industrial music from the 70's that was superior to NIN. He obviously borrowed from it bigtime and popped it up for the masses.

Meh...... if the reason for hating a band is because that a band "borrowed" from thier influences who in somone's opinion MAY have been superior..... might as well quite listening to music. Music isnt created in a vacum.

No, the fact is I don't like NIN because I think it sucks shit. I saw that 70's band LONG after I heard of NIN. I shouldn't have used the term "borrowed". Copied would've been more accurate. What they were doing was eerily close to what NIN did 20 yrs later, only with more primitive technology obviously.

Then you should have just said so and left out that the "popped it up for the masses." because there has been alot of great music that has been made by the artists "borrowing", "stealing", "copied" or what ever you want to call it. Also because some music is made that the "masses" dont know about or even like doesnt make that music better. And on the flip side just because some music is embraced by the public doesnt make it suck either.

I like Trent and NIN a lot. But, he's actually 42 -- looks younger though.

I'm a fan. Sure there's probably better out there, but fuck it, NIN is still good IMO.

I saw them on the Fragility tour. Probably the best concert I've ever been to, ever. And I've seen hundreds of concerts.
