Hey guys...

Hoping to get some opinions, as fanboy as it is, I have pretty much all EVH gear, 100w, 50w, EVH Wolfgang USA, and a EVH Wolfgang Custom...

I first picked up my 100w about a year and a half ago, and I love it... however, I picked it up with no tubes, and instead of going stock with it.. I used a tube set from dougs tubes (his preamp tone kit, with ruby 6l6gcmstr) and I had the bias warmed up a bit, i thinking it's sitting in the 25-28ma range, I'm no tech, so I can't say exactly where it is.. but to me it's perfect...

I picked up the 50w, and dig it - but channel 3 and my wolfgang standard aren't going well together... muting is not near as clear as it is on my 100w... the leads sing off of it, but i can't get a tone i'm happy with out of that channel for rhythm playing... So, I'm thinking.. maybe i should tube it like the other one? could that be it? or maybe its just the guitar it's not getting along with, however, i'm happy with the tone i get with identical settings on the 100w... I just can't dial it out... and i'm at the point where either the guitar or the head is going...

Thoughts?

more than likely a tube problem. could be a preamp tube also. i am pretty sure its V3-5 that directly effect ch3. check them out. might have one that is not happy and that channel has so much gain if you get one that is loud it will wreak havoc.
