I love Trower. I saw his tour earlier this year, and the guy just keeps getting better. He is so subtle in his playing, where he could just play the most delicate note and hold it into this roar. Amazing.

Bridge of Sighs still gives me chills when I dig it up from my collection..

Man that was awesome!

Thanks. That clip is like 10 or 11 years old. I like it cause I like the tone I was getting and for a while I couldn't figure it out.
It was a Menatone 7-knob King Of The Britons, one of the BEST amp-in-a-box pedals I ever used. Long discontinued. I'm having a custom PTP version made by Brian at Menatone.
The Vibe was an Effectrode Tube Vibe.

was wondering how that effectrode pedal sounds...based on this clip..awesome. I think there is a youtube clip around showing Trower explaining how he plays this song. Was really surprised how clean it is played now with better vibe pedal options.

Carl, awesome clip man. What amp was this? Great playing BTW.

It's probably the first Vintage Modern I had when they first came out. The sound is all pedal however. When using those type distortion pedals I'd set the amp on the clean channel.

Well that pedal sounds bad ass. I always wanted a KOB back in the day. Might try to hunt one down.

It was the 7-knob version. Best Marshall amp-in-a-box ever, IMO. Hard to find used. I contacted Brain at Menatone and he's making me a PTP version of it.

Fabulous rendition Brother!

In "74" my brother brought home Johnny Winter And, Rush (Working Man), and Bridge of Sighs........ I was hooked..... needless to say I know good music.... can't always play it!

That was freakin' great

That brought back a lot of memories. Back in my younger days ( 70's and 80's ) when I was playing bass, I was in a couple of power trios, and we always did lots of Trower. I've been a huge fan forever.

Got to meet him once after a show back in 81-82 sometime. It was a small bar in north Toronto. Maybe a 100 - 150 people there. He totally killed it. Couldn't believe I was getting to see one of my heroes in such an intimate setting. I Watched the whole show with my elbows on the stage about 3 feet from his wah pedal. And then he hangs and shoots the shit with us for what seemed like forever. Total class act!
One of the best nights of my life!!

Thanks! Trower was a big influence for me. I got into it when the 1st album came out in '73. i was hooked. Saw Trower many many times, starting in '76, where I recorded the show at MSG, NY. Saw him at Shea Stadium a few months later, and just about every time he appeared in the NY area.
