Trudeau is a clown and he chose the wrong time to push a mandate through but these pricks occupying our city (yes I live in Ottawa) are wearing everyone out and don't be fooled by the "peaceful protest" bullshit. They are occupying parts of the city and have unreasonable demands which in part, should be aimed at the provincial gov and not the feds. They want to "negotiate" but only have an ultimatum. Huge waste of my tax money and they will accomplish nothing. Trudeau is a huge dork and he talks in circles but I most definitely welcome a good police beat down soon. Charter of rights, human rights etc... well blocking streets is an offence too. Trudeau needs to man up and clear this lot and then we can talk about our mandates. Give them credit for a well thought out plan though. You can move people but moving transport trucks is a huge pain in the ass.
I am looking forward to two things;
1. Clearing these "Freedom Fighters" out
2. Trudeau not running for re-election because he is as good as done.

It’s not about vaccinated or unvaccinated anymore, it’s about losing your rights as a Canadian citizen… It will not stop at the Forced vaccine mandate level…

Nope don't agree with mandates. But you know what else? Those mandates are going to be short lived and were going to be lifted anyway. I was surprised companies jumped on this and the trucker initiative didn't make much sense. But also know that there was a push from your side for Canada and the USA to hold hands on this so Trudeau and Biden could pat each other on the back. What I am saying also is, we have no power over the US gov. Lifting that mandate would not solve their problem. This is why their demands are not realistic. They want ALL mandates gone. As a free Canadian, I still also follow science and our numbers here and i see that while there shouldn't be mandates, there also shouldn't be a complete abandonment of masks, or the choice to require vaccine proof to enter my business. Or a mall. There are still people with immune deficiencies and other vulnerable people who ALSO have the right to FREEDOM to go out in public. Doesn't matter what you or I think. Their rights matter too. This might be hard for Americans to understand, but all people do matter. No matter how woke, annoying, or stupid they appear. These "freedom lovers" ( who by the way have their roots in the Albertan and west separatist movement) are conning the nation and trying to bully THEIR opinions on how to resume life as it were. They don't have that right. They don't get to decide that for everyone and take over our city. For every crying police officer or paramedic who is used for propaganda purposes on social media, there are thousands more who are sick of the political play and just want to see this through until the spring when life is very likely going to be coming back to normal. These people are pushing them to the brink. They are also wasting millions of tax dollars that could go towards beds in out hospitals. We can't treat cancer patients as soon as we should because we constantly have to manage covid patients. That number is slowly coming down but now is not the time for it to spike. This is what goofball Trudeau constantly talks about. The responsibility to all people. He made a horrible play on this mandate, but the measures we have had in place have worked given the fragility of our healthcare system. If you listen to how they phrase their policies, it all comes back to how lacking our healthcare system is. We were never equipped for this and it shook the entire establishment. Free healthcare baby, comes with a price.
So feel free to make this a Left / right issue but you should know that this is a very narrow minded way to view the world. If everybody knew everybody in the world, they might think differently about how they weaponize or view politics. I sympathize with livelihoods that have been affected by this and I have even lost co-workers recently. It's terrible. But shutting down that Windsor border is hurting manufacturing plants now and jobs will be lost. Maybe contracts too. So now where are we? They deserve it because we didn't deserve it. If this doesn't stop we will end up with citizens going into the streets and union busting these guys. They will say if the gov. will not move them, we will. That is my fear. When that goes down, it will create a huge divide in this country. This is why Trudeau is failing. He won't discuss with this group but he also won't act against this group. This is the worst type of leader you can have. These people keep going on about we aren't FREE. lol please. Ask if this were Russia, would you have lasted 1 day in Moscow without getting a beat down. We all know the answer to that.

It's cold here. -30 celcius nights at times with wind. They are tired no matter how hooped up on adrenaline they are or all the positive youtube interviews they give. People around the downtown core are losing their minds and will act out soon. Cops work 12-14 hours a day and are burned out. You are seeing it when they arrest people. They are tired of it. The human element will bring this whole thing down. I have to wonder from a psychological perspective, if both sides are just waiting for something to sound off so they can just conclude it whichever way it ends. In the middle of it, the tow truck drives are saying no thanks! Why would we bother with dealing with either party.

I'm boosted. No issues. But you know what? I have young kids.. do i want to be in the ICU or chance ending there? Do I want to take a bed away from a cancer patient or transplant patient? Bigger picture is humanity. These guys will be the losers on this one and the people who organized it will have their lives ruined. Will it have been worth it 5 years from now when it is a footnote? Trudeau will have to shoulder that blame though but luckily I think this will be it for him. No canadian with a brain can re-elect this guy. Mandates were never needed. We were trending in the right direction. 90% of the population had the shot. COVID fake or not, sure all debatable and we will see when all the data is in. I think the latest restrictions on gathering were total BS but I also know nobody was really respecting them anyway. Quebec went full on lockdown. Now that was insane. Practically house arrest. One thing for sure, we will be done with the pandemic and Trudork soon enough!

It doesn't matter 50 or 90% or if they want to talk science . It is all about our fragile health system and not being able to handle the load. That 's the elephant in the room. I said it right from the beginning. Show me the data that proves that me as a vaccinated person will carry less viral load than let's say you as a non vaccinated person. It doesn't exist because there is zero difference. None of this matters. It isn't a "safety" issue, it is an infrastructure issue. Transmission is the key, not mandates. That's why i said that about masks and some restrictions. Not perfect but a "bit" better to lessen the spread. But that said, omicron was the game changer. Nothing can stop it. Which indicates to me that it is running it's course now and we are all going to get sick. People around me are getting it in their families. Everyone sick. No ICU needed so is that the vaccine helping or the virus weakening? Who cares! Everyone is alive. But I'm still selfish and wanting these guys out of my city lol
