I used to speak Afrikaans pretty-well and never heard the word being used like that bro'.

To bore in Afrikaans is "boor", not boer, which still means farmer to this day. Just sayin'.

I'm guessing the confusion might've come from an errant spelling "mistake" that was repeated when peeps were trying to say bore, boor or boar, the latter two of which seem to be "acceptable" alternative spellings.

Mine was just alternate humorous story - it wasn't serious. It was deliberately ridiculous. However I'll give you a leave pass because so many things here are said that are absurd and ridiculous but they are actually being serious. Boer means farmer as you say. I know a little Dutch myself Meneer.
