Tube fault lights

Got another question for the experts here...

What exactly does it mean if my VH4's two left most tube fault lights are lit? They only light when I turn the standby switch to run and the fuses themselves do not look blown as far as I can tell looking at the filament and comparing them to the two good ones. The two tubes in those positions are still lit up and don't appear to be a different color or brightness intensity than the other two.

The amp is definitely much quieter though, that's the only noticeable change.

Are the tubes actually bad or could something else explain this? They're about 7 months old and the amp's been used twice a week for practices and 3-4 times a month for shows. I rarely ever run the master volume above 10 or 11 o'clock.

Thanks!
Ryan

Hey Ryan,

I had problems with 30% of new ! EL34BSTR. Please replace the
whole set with EL34-SED.
Don´t forget biasing !
Replace bad tube fuses.

Peter,

I think I'm gonna go with 6L6's this time (SED Winged C) but thanks though. 35mA for the bias on those correct?

Can you tell me for sure also if it's necessary to have "balanced triodes" in the preamp tubes?

Does anyone know where to get the tube fault fuses in the US? Just checked both Ace and Home Depot and neither had them.

Yes, 35 milliamps each tube would be fine !

Thanks guys,

I got it all working again now with SED Winged C 6L6GC's. Still getting used to the change in tone, but I like it so far - the cleans are much better!
