I’m no tube expert, but I have a stash of over 100 preamp tubes that includes about 1/2 that are sought after NOS.

This must have came out of a Marshall I’ve owned in the past. It is the only tube I have that has the silver looking internals. It sounds phenomenal in my Morris UK 78’ in V2…….along with an RFT in V1 and a JJMG in PI.

Does anyone know what I have here? I would love to get my hands on more of them.

Yours are first generation. They don’t make them like that anymore and the factory equipment was likely damaged/lost in the original fire. The new ones sound bass heavy and lack top end and are horribly microphonic. I plan to find something else for my amp line.

Give the E83CC a shot. I used a mix of those and the ECC803s with good results.
