One of the guitar player's in my buddy's band picked up an early 90's Classic 50. Is there a bias pot on these amps for the EL84's?

I am assuming there is not. I am trying to get the guy to e-mail doug and get some new EL84's from him that are in the range for the amp.

The amp has original tubes, so I told my buddy he needs to replace at least the power tubes and keep a full set of backups if at all possible. I am taking care of the 12AX7's for him....

no bias pot on the classics. most people like JJs in them. i had a bad bunch (JJs), but should have new ones back in today in the mail. JJ EL84's have a wonderful breakup, but the classics have a lot of headroom with those EL84s (don't ask me how they got such clean headroom in there) and they don't really break up much so i don't know how much EL84 breakup characteristics should factor in your decision. i have sovteks in there now and they sound just fine. just get a nice 12AX7 in V1 and run it through some good speakers (greenbacks are the best match imo) and you are good to go.
