Tubes

Hey Dave, thinking about retubing the KS JMP soon. Was going to see if I could get your input on what you'd recommend I put in here. Figured you've tried them all and know what works best in your amps. Got my eye on the Winged C's and Tungsol EL34B's, the site I'm looking at now had great things to say about the Tungsol's. Whatcha think? And also preamp tubes I have no clue yet.

Also, anything my tech should know before he dives in?

Well personally I would not go with the winged c tubes. The tungsols seem cool when I tried them. I like the jjel34 tubes not the e34l. The JJ tubes are my first choice. As for preamp tubes I wouldn't change them as long as the amp sounds good. Most of the time I use Chinese 12ax7 tubes some times using something else in the first spot. Hope that helps

what's the problem with the winged C, curious cause i'm thinking of retubing my 2 Jubilees

Nothing wrong just I don't like the sound in my amps or old marshals. They seem thin and bright to me.
