I always thought this was one of the better (well more fun) guitar tunes to come from the early 80's.

FWIW, rhythm gtrs are an SLO, lead is an Ecstasy (blue channel + Koko Boost).

EDIT: Finished this up yesterday, thought I'd share/bump for the complete video.

I really dig that tune. Thanks man.
Brought back memories of stoopid white guy dances....

Nice!  Recording sounds nice and clean. Did you mic your amp? SM57?

Man great job!!
I really enjoy that tune as well.
The Vapors right?

Thanks gents!

John4021 - too funny, I was also lol while watching the yt vid to learn parts, especially their early tv/live clip, lots of sappy stuff...BUT - you can erase that memory by clicking on the Kirsten Dunst cover (yeah, the actress)...short skirt, under booty close ups, lollipop suckin fun.

errrrl, thanks - yep, always mic'd! SM57 and e906 on a G12M greenback for the lead, i5 and sm7 on a G12H30 (55hz blackback) for the rhythms.

thanks Mailman! Yep, The Vapors, true one hit wonders. Funny thing, as much as this was an MTV staple back in the day, it was never a #1 here in the US. Anyways, I always thought it was a great guitar tune.

That was really cool Derek, well done.

Your guitar tone sounds awesome as well.

^^^ Thanks R/T, definitely respect your input on tones, you have some of the best around. (=

I thought you were bullshittin me about Kirsten.
That was crazy.

Just bumping this since I finished it up yesterday and replaced (OP) the WIP clip with a full video. ;)

Great job my friend! Loved the playing and tones. You have impeccable taste in guitars and amps, I dug every piece of gear you were playing. Made me miss my SLO that I traded off a few months ago just a little (I still can't get past the weird loop) ;)

Thanks for checking it out and the generous comment, BrentSP!! I hear ya about the loop and if I were a live/gig/band dude, I could see it being an minor issue - but in the studio, I've got my own nifty little ways around it!

Really cool cover and great tone. I enjoyed that. Very cool.

Thanks straitjacket, syncrodude! Hopefully I kept it faithful enuff to the original that people can at least halfway sing the parts they recognize haha! It's a super busy tune to begin with so there really was only so much room to adlib without cluttering it up.
