With all the recent discussion of these devices, I'm looking into possibly picking one up. Keep in mind, I have a Kemper and a Mark V:25 with the built in Cab Clone.

My main requirement to either of the Two Notes devices would have to be: silent recording. So what is the main difference between the 2? Is it that the Torpedo stores it's cab emulation on board and the Reload uses the WOS out of your DAW as a plugin? Can the Torpedo do silent recording?

Thanks.
Dave

I believe the difference is with the Torpedo Live you can load Cab Impulse Responses into the unit. The theory being that you can play out live without needing any other equipment except your Tube Amp and the Live unit.
With the Reload you would need a laptop and hope it doesn't crash during the show. Essentially for silent recording only all you need is the Reload. Either can be used for silent recording.

Ill be getting a live in about 2 months or so.

Main things:
The reload needs to be connected to a computer running the software and the live has it built in
Both are good for silent recording and playing

Both are very flexible in their own way:
If you want to do reamping and will use it mainly for recording i would get the reload
If you want to use it when playing and some times for recording i would get the live

Im getting the live because:
Im planning on using it for being able to play silent when i want and i will be recording with it. I dont have a laptop and my computer is in a other room so i need something with the software built in. When playing with friends i can always bring the live and connect to the pa and or computer (now a days enough E-Drum players out there).
I already have the WOS with some cabs. Some times i do have latancy problems, my mac isnt that new any more and i got tons of apps running so in the case of the live ill never have to worry about a latancy issue.

Thanks guys. Exactly what I needed to know. If I get one, I think the Reload would be the ticket. I doubt I'll ever use it live.
