Very nice playing! I've had my Quickrod for 5 months and I'm loving it. Its always nice to see someone else in Atlanta with a QR...;-)
I'm in the market for another cabinet though. I currently have a Marshall cab loaded with Splawn 65 Small Blocks, which they don't make anymore. One of them blew, and I'm on the fence about repairing it, or getting two other speakers. I borrowed a friends cab with greenbacks for a gig the other night and I thought it sounded great...much better than I expected. What other speakers do some of you recommend for a QR? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Rouge! No illusion, I do use my other fingers here and there instead of the pic, think a *poor mans Brett Garsed* (lol, if only, that guy is incred).
Is that something that came from learning another genre?

Nah, not really, just a progression over time I think, probably from seeing other players doing it and then trying it a little bit at a time...and before ya know it, you're doing it second nature.

Thanks, LTK, sideshow! :)

Fuelling my gas for a QR even more lol. Great stuff!!

Now if only someone would buy my Axe Fx, and be willing to ship a QR to Australia lol

Great video! Very cool.

And to the guy above looking for a speaker that will sound as good as the Greenbacks did with the Splawn, I would suggest the Splawn Small Block 25's

cool tune, great playing!

Noticed your MXR EQ there, is that in the loop for tone shaping or a boost for solos?

PS I also love Speed Racer! Go Speed Racer Gooooooooo!

thanks raz311, thenine!

The MXR was on, actually, all the pedals fire up when I turn on the main strip, but it's in the loop of the 5150 III. Only pedals being used with the QR are the BB Preamp and the tc electronics flashback delay.

Glad you dug Speed Racer!! That one is several years old, not really happy with the production but I was really on top on my playing at that point. That was a Peavey Rockmaster fwiw. (=

Sounds and recording quality is excellent. Sorry to say but I'm just hearing Steve Vai licks.

QR gears are foot-switchable, just have to read the manual and hook up a TRS switch correctly. Can be done with any latching switch or GCX/Patchmate 8, etc.--just like noted above--can switch from 1st to 2nd (knob in 1st gear) or from 2nd to 3rd (knob in 3rd gear).

Scott is also now making a 4-button footswitch that includes the gear change functionality--check the Splawn page--I believe it's a minimal upgrade from the standard 3-button switch.

right on Race!

however, the gear switching via footswitch is only available on serial numbers above #460. just a heads up......i bought a patchmate 8 for this purpose, and then found out that i was under the limit, hahah

on the bright side, now i'm switching pedals and channels via midi

Quickrod is my amp....no doubt about that. Had it now for 4 years. Never thinking of going in another place....although i did get a Single Rec for my backup/rehearsal amp. But my quickrod stays at home cuz It records so easily...I just love it. On another note...not a huge fan of the BB with mine, but I love that pedal with the Recto. Personal taste.
