What's a reasonable price for a metal-grill Uber these days? I remember a few years ago they were going for $1800-2100. I found a Rev 2/Green one but seller is asking $3,400. Way too much. And I might just grab a Rev Blue instead since I doubt the Rev 2/Green is $1200 better. I had a Rev 2 about 18 years ago and remember liking it. Haven't played an Uber since.

Not sure on price but I still love my Uber . Grab one

Prices are nuts now! I bought my Rev2/Green on Reverb about 2 years ago for $1800 shipped from Cali to NY. I like it more than than the normal Blue model but that’s just personal taste. It’s an awesome amp but I would NEVER pay more than $2500 for one. Rev Blue has a little more upper mid emphasis, little bit more “Marshally”.

If that's the only real difference, I'll get a Blue.

Judging from all of your build threads I’ve seen over the years, I think you’d like the Blue more. Green has a cool pissed off/sinister voicing, but it really only does that one sound. Blue has more of a modded Marshall tone but still has that Bogner chew and sag to it.

Well I remember really liking the Rev 2 I had. But yeah... 18 years can play tricks with your recollection and tastes do evolve. I'll grab whichever one I can find at a better price I guess lol. I just want the metal panel.

I disagree. I love the Marshall growl and the pissed off green is better than the gain structure of the blue - the blue has always sounded odd to my ears.

There’s a reason the greens go for more than blues. Think about it. I would hold out for a decent rev green if you can.

I really like the tone at 4:42 here (until the phone falls haha). The high-gain sounds he dials in before that are good too, but a little too scooped/fizzy. But once he dials back everything, I think it's pretty rad. More bark and yeah, it's boxier. I'm sure all the versions can get that sound though.

This one sounds good too. So far, the best mic'd Uber video I can find (regardless of rev).

Rev Blue is different but it makes for a unique skins and and the clarity on my 8 strings is one of the best . It definitely sounds different than all my other amps . I’ve grown to really love it . It’s a beast with both volumes at 5

Hard to judge by clips. Camera/mic position and EQ settings really change how this amp sounds. Here's a Rev 2/Green clip I like:

Marshall sounding and 8 strings are two completely different ballgames.

I played James Lugo’s old rev green at the ampfest and it was the only amp my modded 5150 II couldn’t touch. IMHO I thought between them both they decimated everything there. Purple racked SLO, a Fortin bones, triple rec, the green dominated them all. If you find a rev green for 3k I’d jump on it. They’re not going to go down in price anytime soon. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking to find one myself.

I can't justify $3K for a 20-year-old Uber. Don't care what rev it is.

They were going for $2600 before all hell broke loose. Given inflationary adjustment of 6% that’s $2800 for a good deal. It’s just not a great time right now to look for a rare anything - Marshall’s, mesas, bogners, etc.

I paid a stupid amount for my uber original... way more than what's stated in this thread.

It's probably the best amp in my stable.
I prefer it to my Wizard MTL.

I also owned a rev blue and couldn't get rid of it fast enough

Had an Uber. Hated it.

Played it at rehearsal one night and the guys were looking at me out of the corner of their eyes.

I will admit I didn’t do much tweaking to it. The controls were very different from what I was used to. I moved along.

Rev green. No substitute.

I read a review once and the writer said it’s like coloring with only a black crayon. Couldn’t agree more.

yeah in this amp it's more like presence is mid, mid is treble, treble is presence.... strange huh

Last handful of Ubers to sell here on RT and on Reverb were $1,850 - $2,500. There are completed sales for higher than that, but I wouldn't pay those prices.
