Jake loves the upper strings for his riffs..if that makes sense? I have not noticed a lot of straight grrrchuggachugga’s on the bottom two or three strings like most other players… lots of odd chord positions on the higher strings and hits those big open chords also… timing is impeccable also….
There’s a lot of, for lack of a better word, delicate fills and licks in Jake’s playing. Very articulate and acrobatic. Miracle Man opening up NRFTW really was a mission statement that Ozzy’s music was going to be a lot heavier and bluesier.
 
Zakk has always played it in straight tuning. Jake plays it with the bottom two strings up a whole step. The songs in B and the way Jake tunes you can pedal off the open 5th string. I think it's only on the main riff you can actually hear a difference, Zakk's way is more straightforward metal, Jake's has a little more tension.

Jake used the same mesa mark II to record bark at the moon EVH used to record VH1. Some @$$h073 mentioned this in the other EVH thread.
